The Central New York Veterans’ Expo is an annual event that connects veterans and their families directly to area providers.  In 2007 it was held at Herkimer County Community College, in 2008 it was held at the SUNY Institute of Technology, and in 2009 it will be held at the Utica Armory.

The day-long event includes morning and afternoon presentations, as well as break-out discussion sessions, addressing veterans’ issues such as combat stress, veterans in crisis, employment and health care.  Representatives from more than 60 community service providers make themselves available throughout the day to provide resource information to veterans, veterans’ families and those concerned with veterans’ challenges.  The public is invited to come for a visit or the entire day.

The Veterans Expo is supported by the Mohawk Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross, the National Association of Social Workers, the New York State Small Business Development Center , and Oneida County Department of Mental Health.  Like every year, the Veterans’ Expo is free to all.  People who pre-register will receive a free lunch as well.  To register, call the Small Business Development Center at (315) 792-7547.
